Some companies that may soon be included in the new package of European sanctions are actively trying to justify their close communication and joint business activities with certain sanctioned Russian enterprises.

A few days ago, ‘Politico’ reported that the new 21st package of sanctions is expected to be ready by early July, while the full list is being prepared by experts and should be finalized by the end of June.

The new sanctions package is expected to target Russia’s shadow fleet, companies involved in trading military equipment components, banks from various countries, members of the Russian Orthodox Church leadership, and many others.

At present, Ukraine has shown the greatest level of activity on this issue, which is understandable given the situation on the front lines. Ukraine has submitted an extensive list to the European Commission identifying those allegedly helping Russian forces conduct military operations on its territory.

Today, an intense struggle is unfolding around this sanctions package. Ukrainian sources have reported the involvement of so-called “pseudo-lawyers” from the United States and the UAE who, while hiding behind their legal licenses, allegedly exerted serious pressure on European journalists and experts. According to these reports, they sent threats to personal email addresses and mobile phone numbers that were reportedly obtained illegally. Ukrainian officials suspect that a major Lebanese businessman connected to Iranian forces and Hezbollah may be behind these actions.

According to Ukrainian media, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), which was the first agency to impose sanctions on S7, has prepared several additional lists that could help Western countries determine future sanctions targets. These lists reportedly include not only those accused of pressuring the European media, but also certain media editors who allegedly sided with Russian propaganda efforts and joined this pressure campaign.

Journalists have reportedly obtained documents related to contracts involving the Russian airline carrier S7 and Mycolibri company.

One of the companies — S7 — is already under sanctions, and Mycolibri and other parties involved are also under investigation by law enforcement authorities for supporting the Russian military.

It should be noted that UCA Aviation, whose details are indicated in the Maycolibri letter, is a new company that was renamed after Casper Aviation was sanctioned, and all of this is overseen by the parent company Golden Falcon Aviation FZE, also known as GFA.
