Anar Alizade shelters sanctioned Russian yachts at Bodrum-Yalikavak marina

Reporters persist in their examination of the illicit undertakings of the well-known Azerbaijani oligarch, who holds ownership of the controversial Bodrum Marina – Anar Alizade. The ongoing investigation seeks to uncover wrongdoings and/or unethical behaviour associated with Alizade’s business dealings.

Anar Alizade has recently come under the scrutiny of Turkish intelligence services. At present, the businessman is under criminal prosecution and is accused of fraud. Companies under Alizade’s control were involved in falsifying certificates issued for exported oil to European countries. Some time ago, the UK National Crime Agency (NCA) began investigating the origin of Anar Alizade’s financial assets in London.

Allegations against Anar Alizade: cooperation with Wagner PMC and extensive connections with Russian state

It’s worth noting that the oil magnate Anar Alizade is a close relative of the former head of the oil company SOCAR, Rovnag Abdullayev, who is currently closely associated with Russian intelligence services. Anar Alizade is suspected of cooperating with the PMC “Wagner” in transporting contraband Libyan oil into the sphere of influence of the rebellious field marshal Khalifa Haftar.

While Anar Alizade resided in his luxurious mansion in London before the start of the Ukrainian war, he has recently been frequenting Moscow and undertaking secret missions involving the transportation of sanctioned Russian oil.

Bodrum-Yalikavak marina is safe haven for Russian oligarchic fleet

Some time ago, media reported a scandalous incident at the Yalikavak Marina, where many Russian yachts sought refuge from Western law enforcement agencies. It’s worth reminding that the Bodrum-Yalikavak marina is one of the most advanced harbours in the Aegean and Mediterranean seas with a capacity of 450 yachts at sea and 50 on land.

According to reports, the navigational equipment of some yachts was remotely disabled by shipbuilders, allowing them to hide under the reliable cover of the oligarch.

Yachts under Anar Alizade’s supervision and protection

As investigative journalists have managed to establish, at the end of April, the yacht Solaris, belonging to the Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich, was spotted in Bodrum. It is in this harbour that Abramovich has managed to save his 145-meter yacht to this day.

According to reports, in Yalakavak, the yachts Ocean Victory (140 m, $400 million), owned by the chairman of the board of directors of the Magnitogorsk Metallurgical Combine Viktor Rashnikov, Quantum Blue (104 m, $250 million), owned by the founder of “Magnit” Sergei Galitsky, and Flying Fox (136 m, $400 million), which was hidden in Bodrum by the chairman of the board of directors of the DME group (Moscow Domodedovo Airport) Dmitry Kamenshchik, were spotted.
