Spar supermarket chain has been the victim of a cyber attack in the UK. Some 300 shops in the north of England were affected by the attack.
As a result of the cyber attack, the retailer is forced to keep the stores closed. At the affected shops it is not possible to pay by credit card or to email.
These are only stores supplied by the James Hall & Company distribution centre. It’s unclear if any customer information was captured by the hack or who was behind the attack.
Retailers are vulnerable to hacking and often they are victims of targeted ransomware.
