Delta returns to Britain (and it’s not a virus)

Delta Air Lines is scaling towards Britain. The easing of travel rules from the US, which means that fully vaccinated travellers no longer have to be quarantined upon arrival, gradually increases the demand for airline tickets.

From October 7, Delta resumed service between Seattle and London Heathrow, with three flights a week. On October 11, the connection between Detroit and London will also return, with four weekly flights. Earlier, on 6 October, the US KLM partner doubled the number of flights on the route between New York JKF and Heathrow, to twice a day.

”The long-awaited reopening of the market (between the US and the UK) is an important milestone, as the borders have been closed for a year, ” said Joe Esposito, Senior Vice President Network Planning at Delta.

The US-UK market is very important for both US and UK airlines, with 22 million passengers and 900,000 tonnes of freight annually.

Travelers arriving in London from the US must be able to present a vaccination certificate and a negative Coronation test of up to three days old, and undergo another PCR test no later than two days after arrival. When returning to the US, a negative test result of up to three days old must be shown again.
