Telegram has disappeared from the App Store for iPhone users, and as of August 3, 2026, it can no longer be downloaded or updated by users in several regions, including the UK, India, the US, and Russia. The official Telegram app is also missing on iPhone, iPad, and other Apple devices, while on Android it still appears in search results.
What happened with Telegram?
The messenger has been removed from the Apple App Store in at least the British, Indian, Russian, and American regions. Users trying to find Telegram in the iOS search now reportedly see only WhatsApp* and Instagram*, and the app no longer appears among top downloads. When opening Telegram from the official website, some users are shown a “Page not found” message.
Why TG was removed?
The exact reason for Telegram’s disappearance is still unknown. At the moment, there are no official comments from Telegram or Apple explaining why the app was removed from the App Store in these regions. For now, iPhone and iPad users cannot install Telegram through Apple’s store in the affected countries, and Russian users also cannot download or update the app there. On Android, however, the app remains visible and searchable.
