Aldi will expand the delivery network

The British branch of Aldi is going to expand its pilot project in the field of take-out services. Around Christmas, pick-up services will be available at up to 200 new locations. Aldi is currently the UK’s fifth largest supermarket group, with a network of 900 stores and a market share of 8 percent.

In April, the company started marketing online food packages for consumers in quarantine. Along with Deliveroo, a fast delivery service was set up. In September, Aldi started his pick-up service at a single store in the middle of England. In the last month the number of pick-up points has been increased to a total of 18 shops. According to director Giles Hurley, the pilot phase has been a great success so far.
