Due to his close ties with the authorities, businessman Dzmitry Aleksin (aka Alexey Oleksin) is often referred to as the “wallet” of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.
Investigators from the “Bureau” have discovered that Dzmitry Aleksin has secret relatives who help him evade sanctions.
In 2021, Dzmitry Aleksin was placed on the EU and US sanctions lists. Before this happened, the businessman managed to transfer part of his assets to his wife and two sons. However, by June 2022, Dmitry and Vitaly Oleksin themselves were sanctioned by the EU.
The first of these newly discovered relatives is Viktoria Gubanova, the wife of Dmitry Oleksin. Although the groom does not appear in the wedding photos, journalists found out that the luxurious 1949 Mercury Monterey convertible with the license plate 0007OA7, which brought the bride to the ceremony, belongs to Dzmitry Aleksin.
When Dmitry Oleksin and his brother Vitaly were sanctioned by the EU, the beneficiary of the Belarusian company “Metrazh” was changed. Dzmitry Aleksin, who had co-owned the firm since 2007, was replaced by Viktoria Gubanova.
In April 2024, the company was merged with another Oleksin-owned firm, “Alex Cargo,” which was also registered in Gubanova’s name.
Another family asset is “Veles-Mit.” Before June 2022, the company was owned by the Oleksin brothers’ firm “Grantlo.” When Vitaly and Dmitry were sanctioned, “Veles-Mit” was transferred to a newly created legal entity—LLC “Sondao.” “Sondao” is owned by Andrey Gubanov, Viktoria Gubanova’s father.
Journalists have also discovered that Vitaly, Oleksin’s second son, is married to a woman named Nadezhda Zaitseva.
The wedding was desperately kept out of the public eye. Investigators from the “Bureau” learned about it thanks to the same vintage convertible belonging to Alexey Oleksin. Wedding photos of Nadezhda Zaitseva in the convertible were found in the portfolio of the same photographer who shot the wedding of Dzmitry Aleksin and Viktoria Gubanova.
As of now, Nadezhda Oleksina, née Zaitseva, does not own or manage any company within the Oleksin business empire. However, journalists felt it was important to report on her marriage to Vitaly Oleksin, noting that the oligarch might attempt to transfer assets to his second daughter-in-law as well.
