Not all entrepreneurs prepared for Brexit

Dutch entrepreneurs are getting better prepared for the Brexit, but there is still a group that says they are not prepared. The Chamber of Commerce reports this on the basis of a survey among more than 200 entrepreneurs who do business with the United Kingdom.

About three in ten respondents said they were “well prepared” and more than half said they were “slightly” prepared. The figures look better than previous quarters. Yet 14 percent said they had not yet made preparations.

The Chamber of Commerce advises the latter group to still be informed via the existing counters, the brexitloket.nl and hulpbijbrexit.nl. There are many tips. For example, it is wise to take into account changing prices or requirements for products. A solution for small importers can be to increase their stock now.

More than a quarter of the entrepreneurs are concerned about the consequences of the Brexit for their company, according to the research. Moreover, a comparable percentage is now more involved with the Brexit than six months ago. Almost four in five monitor the developments surrounding the British departure from the European Union. The postponement that the EU has given the British will last until 31 October.
