Amazon to open smaller deliver hubs to curb the emissions

In London, two new small delivery hubs will soon be opened by Amazon, from there packages should be delivered to customers by bike and above all also on foot.

There will also be a small delivery hub in Manchester. The move is part of Amazon’s plans to invest in electrification and reduce their emissions. The company aims to emit net zero carbon by 2040. The extra cargo bikes, a small electric car and the deliveries on foot have to deliver 2 million parcels a year.

“These new hubs will not only bring our customers more electric-powered deliveries, but also support local authorities looking for ways to reduce congestion and find alternative modes of Transportation,” John Boumphrey, Amazon’s UK Country Manager, said in a statement.
