Xi Jinping may visit Washington DC in early June

Chinese President Xi Jinping may travel to Washington in early June to sign under a trade agreement with the United States. South China Morning Post writes that based on insiders.

Agreements have been negotiated for months by representatives of both economic superpowers. US President Donald Trump previously expressed the hope that an agreement between the countries could be reached in the short term and that Xi would visit the White House in the short term.

A deal would mean the end of the continuing trade tensions between the countries, constantly slapping each other with billions of import duties. According to the source, a date has not yet been cast in concrete. “June is an option, but it can also be later,” the newspaper writes.
